Wooden Hill is an ethical coffee company specialising in high-quality Fairtrade coffee beans, equipment, and training. Founded in 2015 by Robin, Wooden Hill, named after the phrase “up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire,” embodies a commitment to sustainability and quality. They roast all of their own Fairtrade coffee beans and for every 100kg of coffee sold, they plant a tree in the Forest of Marston Vale, contributing to a greener environment.
The core of Wooden Hill’s offerings is their Wooden Hill House blend, a medium roast with notes of chocolate, caramel, and almond aromas, sourced from Central and South America.
Wooden Hill uses Biotre compostable packaging, which is made from up to 60% renewable wood pulp and is certified for industrial composting. The remaining 40% is designed to degrade in five to ten years, significantly reducing environmental impact. In addition, the packaging labels contain wildflower seeds, which can be planted.
Since its inception, Wooden Hill has sold nearly 2 million cups of coffee, consistently sourcing Fairtrade beans from trusted, ethical suppliers worldwide. They have also made significant environmental contributions by planting 1,247 trees, saving 3,700 cardboard boxes through the use of reusable crates, and using 13,000 biodegradable bags.
