Rodda’s
- Location: Redruth, Cornwall

A lot has happened in the last 130 years since Eliza Jane began baking her famous Cornish delicacy in the farmhouse that still stands proudly at the Redruth Creamery. Now in the fifth generation of the family business, Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream is still crafted in the very same way, making Eliza Jane proud.
What makes Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream so special is its delicate golden crust, a mark of quality achieved through the family’s expertise. The cream is gently baked, and during this process, the crust starts to appear as the tastiest and richest bits rise to the top. Breaking through the seal with a spoon reveals the smoothness of the cream below.
Supporting local farmers is key to everything Rodda’s does. They build relationships based on trust and team spirit, sourcing all their milk from farms within just 30 miles of the creamery. The farms are certified by the Red Tractor Farm Assurance Dairy, ensuring the best milk for the best cream.
Rodda’s holds a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) award from the European Commission, protecting traditional regional foods against imitation. This guarantees that Cornish clotted cream is made from distinctively rich and creamy local Cornish milk, a product of Cornwall’s sea breezes and climate, using traditional methods.
Rodda’s is committed to environmental and community impact, continuously improving their environmental performance. They are a certified B Corp™️ business, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the environment and the wider community. Rodda’s is mindful of carbon emissions and has made positive strides in recent years. They have removed 2.5 tonnes of plastic from their business and reduced food waste by 75%. While plastic is currently necessary to withstand the heat of their ovens and keep the cream fresh, all their pots are widely recyclable, and cardboard sleeves are sourced from sustainable forests and fully recyclable.
Rodda’s is dedicated to finding better packaging solutions and is actively working with suppliers and experts. They are also focused on reducing energy consumption, using renewable energy sources, solar panels, and water recycling. Efforts include implementing LED lighting, motion sensors, and upgrading refrigeration systems to reduce daily energy use.
