Morghew Farms
- Location: Ormskirk, Lancashire

Nestled in the picturesque Morghew Park Estate, Morghew Farms cultivates at least twenty varieties of potatoes annually on 35 acres of prime land. Unlike many agricultural suppliers, Morghew Farms takes a distinctive approach by catering specifically to the culinary industry, they do not supply any retailers. This specialised focus allows them to dedicate their resources and expertise to cultivating potatoes that meet the exacting standards of chefs. Each potato variety is selected and grown with great care, ensuring a wide array of colours, flavours, and textures. From creamy and buttery types perfect for mashing to firm and waxy varieties for salads, Morghew Farms offers potatoes suited for every dish. Their commitment to quality and variety has made them a chef favourite.
The Morghew Park Estate itself exemplifies the beauty and productivity of the Kent countryside. The farm is deeply committed to sustainable practices, taking deliberate steps to enhance and protect the environment. They have planted new areas of native woodland and hedgerows to enrich and connect existing habitats, fostering biodiversity. To maintain soil health, fields are never left bare and a new crop is planted within days of harvesting the previous one.
The farm avoids ploughing, keeping the soil undisturbed and preserving its natural structure. They incorporate wildflower mixes, particularly pollinator-friendly varieties like sunflowers and phacelia, into their cover crops and plant wildflower margins around fields to support local ecosystems. Crop rotation is carefully managed, with cycles ranging from 5 to 7 years depending on the crop, allowing the land to rest and regenerate between uses. Rainwater collected in two large reservoirs is utilised for irrigation during dry summer months, ensuring efficient water use. Additionally, the farm minimises waste by selling any potato leftovers to local farmers for livestock feed, further contributing to a sustainable agricultural system.
