DGM Growers
- Location: Holbeach, Lincolnshire

Based in Lincolnshire, DMG Growers is dedicated to delivering top-quality British and imported vegetables. As growers and innovators, they specialise in a range of niche and specialty vegetables, always seeking unique offerings to expand their diverse product range.
The company’s commitment to environmental management and sustainability is exemplified by its solar panel system, which generates 25% of the site’s total energy needs. To further enhance energy efficiency, meters have been installed across the facility to monitor and manage energy consumption effectively. Additionally, all interior lighting is powered by energy-efficient LED technology, significantly reducing electricity usage and environmental impact.
Since May 2020, the company has proudly held the ISO 14001 certification, a globally recognised standard for environmental management systems. This certification highlights its dedication to sustainable and responsible practices.
Beyond energy management, the company also demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility. Over 1.5 million meals have been donated to FareShare, a charity that fights hunger by redistributing surplus food to those in need, reflecting the company’s efforts to reduce food waste and give back to the community.
The company also operates 30 state-of-the-art cold storage units, each utilising an advanced glycol cooling system. This system employs less harmful gases, making it an environmentally friendly solution and one of the most advanced technologies on the market.
The farm grows a selection of UK vegetables, and maintains long-standing relationships with growers across the UK and Europe, ensuring top standards. DMG Growers is the largest UK producer of chicory, celeriac, and fennel and the leading supplier of Chinese vegetables to UK retailers. Since 1983, DMG Growers has been a pioneer in chicory production, utilising special ‘forcing’ rooms to grow this challenging vegetable. They expanded from chicory to field-grown vegetables in 2010, making full use of Lincolnshire’s fertile soil. Their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint includes using biodegradable plastic to protect courgette seedlings and investing in efficient farm machinery.
The process of growing chicory involves chilling roots to induce dormancy before sprouting them in dark hydroponic rooms, a method that produces a creamier, less bitter product. DMG Growers harvests over 4 million heads of chicory annually, with each chicon taking 21 days to grow.
