George founded Daily Dose to prioritise health, wellbeing, and nutrition in an industry dominated by concentrates. After graduating from university, George’s passion for health and fitness led him to juicing as an alternative to sugary drinks. Discovering the massive waste of produce due to supermarket standards, George committed to using wonky, surplus produce to make juices, thereby combating food waste.
George established relationships with British farmers, sourcing beetroots from Bedfordshire, carrots from Peterborough, apples from Surrey, and greens from Lancashire. Starting by selling to a local café, Daily Dose has since grown from George’s kitchen to a 2,500 sq ft pressery in Battersea, equipped with automated juicing, filling, capping, and labelling machines. They still supply that first café with weekly deliveries of cold-pressed juices.
Daily Dose is committed to sustainability at every stage of their juice production process. At the heart of their operation is a strong focus on repurposing by-products, ensuring that no part of the fruit goes to waste. All leftover pulp from the juicing process is transformed into biofuel through aerobic digestion, contributing to a more sustainable energy system.
Daily Dose is also dedicated to supporting local agriculture and reducing food waste. They source produce as locally as possible, and they actively seek out “wonky” fruits and vegetables, those that might not meet the cosmetic standards of major retailers but are perfectly good to eat. By using this surplus British produce, they not only cut down on waste but also provide farmers with a market for produce that might otherwise be discarded.
Environmental responsibility is further reflected in their packaging choices. Daily Dose uses bottles made from 30% recycled PET (rPET), reducing their reliance on virgin plastics and helping to lower their overall environmental impact.
All of their juices are crafted in house at their cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Corby. As one of the few UK-based juice manufacturers, Daily Dose takes pride in controlling every aspect of production, from sourcing to bottling, to ensure the highest quality and a minimal environmental footprint.
